Our scooter club started the day off with lunch at EZ's. Fearless leader, Jerry had to return to work, so the four of us went for a ride. I suggested we ride out to the remote control airport. Bobbie suggested we go to the airport, Pangborn, and take a tour of the Wenatchee Repellars base. Jason  was guiding the tour, showing us different things, and then took us out on to the tarmac to show/explain the helicopter that they repel out of, (this is part of the Forest Service). As we were standing near the helicopter, we heard this plane that didn't sound just right. As we turned to look, a single engine plane was turning toward where we were standing. the plane  got about 50 feet off the runway and veered to the right. it bounced on the landing gear, too damn close to us, a metal piece came whizzing past just missing us. the plane bounced again, breaking the landing gear and came to a rest in the grass next to the auxillary runway. luckily nobody got hurt

 

Jeremy commented that this will never happen again in our life times. I sure hope not.
